Here at Gyvas Kodas we build IT systems to help schools manage student well-being. We strongly believe in user research driven software development, where system users play a pivotal role in desining the tools they use. Gyvas Kodas is a not-for-profit organisation.
Motivation
The rate of bullying in Lithuanian schools remains one of the highest in the EU, with nearly a 3rd of surveyed adolescents experiencing some form of psychological or physical violence. With the proliferation of social media this issue is ever more pressing.
Schools lack practical tools to manage incidents of violence, and victims often don't receive the support they sorely need. We build systems that eliminate informational silos, while helping schools a) identify causes promptly, b) design data-driven responses, and c) inform the right parties at the right time. Schools use our tools to create a learning environment, where students, their parents, and educators all win.
